Boring my brains out

I know I'm in a weird phase when:

- I don't feel like cooking but I sure wanna eat!
- I want to buy everything I see (clothes, groceries, magazines, the lot!)
- I look at my pile of books and shrug my shoulders in a 'naahh' way
- I have shit-loads of films to see and don't wanna see any

Basically I wanna be on my own, but then don't really know what to do with myself.

Tenho uma amiga que merece o mundo e mais porque é inteligente, linda, divertida, forte, mas a vida - cabra como só ela - teima em pregar-lhe rasteiras, daquelas grandes, que esfolam mais a alma do que os joelhos. Ela cai, como todos nós, e levanta-se de novo e outra vez.
É impossível não querer mandar a vida à merda pelo peso que lhe põe nos ombros e a tristeza que se lhe colou ao olhar. Como amiga, sinto-me triste por ela e revoltada.
Nunca te esqueças minha homónima que estou aqui, hoje e sempre, e que apesar de não te poder afastar de todos os males, posso pelo menos segurar-te na mão e ajudar-te a levantar.

Finding oneself can be a mess

S - You have to stop worrying so much about others' feelings, especially in detriment of your own...
Red - ... but I'm afraid of hurting them too much and loosing them in the process.
S - Yes, they will be hurt, but they have to accept this isn't about them, it's about you taking care of yourself and standing secure on your own. Those people love you. Hard as it may be for them, they should meet you at the end of the line, because losing you now, could mean gaining you fully, whole heartedly soon.
Red - What if they don't? What if it's the worst choice ever?
S - Then you'll deal with it, but at least you'll be certain. Of yourself, of what you want. Sometimes you have to take a step back so you can move forward. And maybe this is just the laying of foundations to a new building, one you're sure of, one you can give yourself to 100%, one that is really you.

Não sou exactamente uma fã de Woody Allen, mas reconheco-lhe o génio. E este Midnight in Paris é encantador, tem uma fotografia belíssima e um enredo original e mágico.
A rever em momentos de nostalgia.
